We as elders of Seed Church agree to commit ourselves to lovingly care for the people of Seed. To seek their growth in Christ, and equip them for ministry. To provide teaching and counsel from the Scriptures that spans the whole counsel of God’s Word. To help in times of need. To pray regularly for the people of Seed particularly when they are sick. To be on guard against false teachers. To exercise church discipline when necessary. To seek God’s will for the church community to the best of our ability as we study the scriptures and follow the leading of the Spirit. We agree that we are elders that meet the criteria assigned to us in the scriptures, and will attempt to uphold the character qualifications throughout our position as elder.

Phil Higley: Elder
Family: Married since 2004 to my awesome wife, Kimberly. Our desire and prayer is to start a family this year.
Favorite Movies: Easy—Lord of The Rings! All the stereotypical guys movies, e.g., Rocky, Predator, Conan, 300, Gladiator, etc. I also like The Wrestler, Watchman, Schindler’s List, The Godfather, and any movies involving zombies, werewolves, and vampires (Twilight excluded). Basically I’m “cinemaccentric.” Funny fact: The first movie I ever cried in was Harry and the Hendersons (I was 7 years old).
For Fun: Lifting weights in the gym and Scottish Highland Games strongman competitions, Date nights with my wife, NFL (Seahawks!), and Reading Philosophy & Theology. My idea of “fun” is to study theology all day long and discuss with friends, go to the gym, then hang out with my beautiful wife, which is basically what I did throughout graduate school–and why I miss it so much.
Favorite Authors: Stanley Grenz, Augustine, Karl Barth, Jonathan Edwards, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Alvin Plantinga, C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, R.C. Sproul, Alister McGrath, Frederick Copleston, and many others.
Playlist: Johnny Cash, Pink Floyd, Mozart, Scorpions, The Smiths, Iron Maiden, and George Strait. Again, I’m admittedly eccentric when it comes to music.
What I like best about my job: The Gospel
Steve Heatwole: Elder

For Fun: Spending time with Family and Friends, playing with fire, watching movies, listening to music, and shooting guns :)
Favorite Authors: God, R.C. Sproul, Francis Chan, John Piper, Timothy Keller, Saint Augustine, C.S. Lewis, Chuck Swindoll.
Playlist: Lots of Audio books, Mumford and sons, Foster the people, Anberlin, Paramore, Skillet, Red, Third Day, Tenth Avenue North, Mat Kearney, Casting Crowns.
What I like best about my job: Getting PAID to play with electricity, the challenge, and the people I work with.
