Employment

Could God be calling you to Seed Church?

Seed Church is seeking a full-time Pastor to serve as the church’s primary preacher, teacher and congregational care elder. We need an enthusiastic leader who can build on our strengths as an authentic, caring, Christ-centered body, help us connect with each other, and help us reach out to our spiritually needy community.

We’re a small congregation of about 45 adults and 30 children. We own our facilities with an 80-seat sanctuary and Kids Ministry house (former parsonage) debt-free. We’re led by a group of dedicated elders, and we seek to cultivate an atmosphere of openness and vulnerability. We value our children and invest heavily in our children’s education ministry.

Our congregation is predominantly educated professionals with young families. We’re busy, committed to Christ, and living out our faith in a secular setting north of Seattle. We need a pastor who can interact with secular culture, is tech-savvy, and is comfortable in the Pacific Northwest.

Our next pastor needs to love and study the Word and engagingly exposit biblical text book by book. We need a preacher who can show not only the exegetical truths of a passage but also the contemporary and practical relevance of God’s Word to an audience with diverse perspectives.

Beyond Sundays, we need a pastor who lives what he preaches as a man of God, helping the congregation grow spiritually and relationally by loving people and caring for all ages. Because we are a small church, our pastor will need to wear multiple “hats” as preacher, visionary, organizer, administrator, shepherd, disciple maker, and prayer leader (Acts 6:4).

Our pastor will need to affirm our Reformed alignment, affiliate with the North American Baptist Conference (NAB) and participate with the 3Strand Network.

Qualifications:

  • Love for Christ and people demonstrated in a godly and relational lifestyle
  • Demonstrated ability to teach Scripture in an expositional and engaging manner
  • Satisfactory completion of a degree in biblical and theological study
  • Experience in local church service and leadership, preferably as an elder in a like-minded Reformed, baptistic church.
  • A commitment to serving and cooperating with, investing in, and submitting to a team of leaders in an elder-led church
